The Macon County Historical  Society (MCHS) Genealogy Library promotes family history research by collecting,
preserving, and making available to the public genealogical and historical  records of Macon County and the State of Missouri.  The Library is housed  in the Macon County Historical Museum at 1402 S. Missouri Street, Macon, MO.
Please click this link for a list of books available.

Explore Macon County and  Missouri history, census records, maps, cemetery listings, library and  courthouse records and family histories and files with the help of the MCHS  Genealogy Library researchers and volunteers.

Genealogy  Research Requests-Genealogy  research requests may be made year-round by filling out the  Research Request Form,

To  request a search by mail, print and fill out the Research Request  Form, to the fullest extent  that you are able.  Include your research fee of $10 for up to one hour’s  time for locating and copying from files, plus a self-addressed stamped
envelope.  The  more information the requester can give about which records have already been  searched and the specific information being requested, the quicker response the  local researcher can give.
