"For Remembering Macon  Athletic Events - 1899 - 1976".

Lee McDowell was a local sport  enthusiast and supporter of the Macon, Missouri R-1 school sports  program.  He created an extensive collection of local sports memorabilia  starting in 1899 and ending in 1976.  This hardbound book has 253 pages  with lots of photos.  The sports history starts with photos of the Blees  Academy, 1899 with photos and articles from the local newspapers of the time,  such as the Macon Citizen and the Macon  Democrat.

There is  a section on Macon's first girls basketball team in  1909.

Each year is represented, and  it is believed that each team of the year as well.
